Holiday Shop, updates & reminders!

Hello Parents,

We will be visiting the Holiday Shop on Thursday, December 7th at 11:00 a.m.

• Literacy Objectives:

Phonics/spelling-Decoding words ending in /ed/ and /ing/ & review /ck/

Memory word focus- there, from, be, we, or, to

Reading fluently- Read and understanding informational text/read and understand new vocabulary

Writing- plans and write a description of a place

Please remember to have students practice reading their book bags books several times each week and practice sight words nightly. Each Wednesday students get new book bag books and are tested on sight words please send book bags and sight word books in each Wednesday!

• Math Objectives: Module 2,Topic A begins with students solving word problems with three addends as a way for them to begin to explore the make ten strategy in a meaningful context. With problems that always include at least two numbers that yield 10 when added together.

Students should be practicing their math facts each night for the “Bubble gum tests”

• Continued: Student Wellness focus is Building Resiliency- resiliency the ability to recover from adversity, trauma, tragedy, illness, or even significant sources of stress. Building resiliency can help children manage so they’re better equipped to handle the bumps on the road of life. When our students are resilient, the frequency of bullying and school violence reduces.

• Social Studies: Identifying and describing Landforms

We are a NUT FREE classroom. All snacks must be NUT FREE!!!
